Purpose:
The
House System at DeSales is comprised of nine "houses" of
approximately 35 students. Each House is comprised of freshman through seniors,
and students remains in the same House for all four years at DeSales.
Throughout the year, Houses compete in a
variety of contests that encourage unity and pride among our
students. Each House has its own mascot, colors, and
student-designed T-shirts. Representatives from each House
work closely with the Student Government on projects and
issues.
Through the House system, students build
stronger ties with each other and experience a deeper
sense of brotherhood.
As DeSales was run by the Carmelite order of
Catholic priests and brothers at its founding, each House is
named after a sainted Carmelite. The nine Houses are: Abbati, Brandsma,
Elijah, Kalinowski, Mazzinghi, Pereira, Rabata, Spagnoli, and
Thomas.
Eligibility:
All students are required to participate.
