Academic Team

The purpose of the Academic Team is to promote academic excellence and achievement in competition through Quick Recall, Governor's Cup, and Future Problem-Solving.

Eligibility:
Open to students in all grades

2012 Governor's Cup Competition
After much hard work and preparation, the 2012 Academic Team successfully defended its district title, dominating all eight categories with a clean sweep. The Colts finished first place in Future Problem Solving, Quick Recall, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Arts & Humanities, and English Composition.  It is DeSales' 24th consecutive Governor's Cup District title.

After winning the District, the Colts competed at the regional level on February 18th and took second place behind Manual in Region 6.  The Quick Recall team placed second, its highest finish ever at region, and advanced to the state tournament for the first time in school history.  The Colts also broke the DeSales record for individual qualifers at state, with a DeSales student placing in 5 of the 6 individual disciplines.  The Colts Future Problem Solving team also took 1st place.

The Governor's Cup State Championships will be held in Lexington on March 10-12.
