Counseling & Guidance

DeSales’s Counseling & Guidance Department strives to provide students a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning through personal attention and making sure the needs of every student are met. The department handles any problem or issue that may interfere with student learning, guides the students toward a successful future, and creates a positive school environment for everyone.

The Counseling & Guidance Department lives the vision of DeSales High School through its commitment to developing and fostering the whole student academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We provide programs and resources to help our students in the areas of college guidance, career planning, and personal counseling. We encourage collaboration, cooperation, and communication between school and home. It is the intent of the department to provide a collaborative effort through involving parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals in delivering optimal support for each student.

The Counseling & Guidance Department provides the following services:

• Individual, Family, and/or Group Counseling

• Academic Consultation

• College Guidance and Preparation

• Scholarship Planning

• Career Planning

• Standardized Test Administration (EXPLORE, PLAN, PSAT)

• Prevention and Education Resources
