What's in a Meal?
A meal consists of 1 entree, 2 sides, and 1 milk.
Additional items can be purchased for an extra charge. Two
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches count as one entree.
It is encouraged that students who opt for peanut
butter and jelly as an entree take two sandwiches to meet meal
requirements.
Students are limited to three cookies the first time
through the lunch line. Additional cookies may be purchased
after everyone has been through the line.
Lunch Prices
A lunch meal, consisting of an entree, vegetable, fruit and milk,
costs $4.00.
A la carte: Entree $2.00; Side $0.60; Milk $0.50;
Cookies 3 for $1.00; Bottled water $1.00.
Snacks (Rice Krispie treats, baked chips, popcorn,
Pop Tart, ice cream, NutraGrain bar) are $0.75.
National School Lunch Program
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a
federally-assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit
private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides
nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each
school day.
The program was established under the National
School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946.
DeSales High School participates in the National
School Lunch Program, offering a reduced lunch price for those who
qualify for the program.
Interested parents must complete an application to
determine whether their son qualifies for the program. Please
